Nene Nwoko is a Nigerian-born, US-based producer and actor whose work is defined by discipline, craftsmanship, and a deep commitment to impactful storytelling. Her passion for film began in Delta State, Nigeria, where a simple gift—a new television, a video player, and two VHS tapes, The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady—opened her eyes to the transformative power of cinema. Raised in a home filled with music, performance, and Broadway albums, she developed an early appreciation for narrative structure, ensemble work, and emotionally resonant stories that continues to shape her career.
Nene earned a degree in Management Information Systems and began her professional journey as a Web Producer for a major retail company’s e-commerce division. This role laid the groundwork for the organizational discipline and creative problem-solving that now define her production work.
She transitioned into film and television with a strong foundation in both creative insight and operational excellence. Beginning as a Production Assistant on the award-winning series Vindication, she quickly advanced to Set Coordinator, Director’s Assistant, and by Season 2, Associate Producer—continuing through Seasons 3 and 4. She is also a Co-Producer on the upcoming Vindication Season 5 special episode. Her work on the series spans pre-production planning, scheduling, cast coordination, cast travel arrangements, on-set management, and post-production support, demonstrating her ability to handle complex productions with precision and professionalism.
Beyond Vindication, Nene has served as Executive Producer on the short film 8:38 and is currently developing three feature films—The Lump, Butterflies in the Snow, and A Reason for the Season—each designed to deliver character-driven stories with emotional impact and commercial appeal.
As an actress, Nene has appeared on Bob Hearts Abishola, S.W.A.T., The Chosen, and Mo, giving her a well-rounded perspective on performance and on-set collaboration that strengthens her work behind the camera.
Producing Peggy represents the next step in Nene’s mission to create stories that spark imagination and move the heart-stories that, like Maria and Captain von Trapp’s world, invite us into something deeper, beautiful, and true.
